When do you feel like you don’t belong WITH Jesus? This is the scene in the play when the villain enters. Let’s call him SHAME!

I just released a new song for the world to pray called I Belong. It is in direct response to the lies and songs that “SHAME/EVIL” shouts at you and me everyday:

Aaron, one of my Twimmons (7yr old Timmons-Twins), had a minor surgery today and needless to say, we were all mildly anxious about it, including that cute little guy.

This past weekend as I got on the plane, I traveled WITH Jesus. He was the one to open up some beautiful conversations, not me...go figure.

I wanted to thank you for walking with us in this journey of putting Jesus’ heart, nearness and powerful invitations into practice all week long. Honestly writing these every week is a real labor of love, but knowing that there are thousands of us leaning into Jesus together has been one of the great joys of my life!

He nodded slowly while looking up at the ceiling as if he wasn’t totally sure about my statement, as if he was processing. What came out of his mouth next, was a mic drop moment (at least it was for me).

If I’m honest, I would say that every time I sense a distance between me and God, or I question His nearness, it’s not His issue but mine.

To many of us, the phrase “confess your sins” triggers a ton of religious baggage causing us to shudder in fear and shame, and to others, it is a beautiful practice.

It’s so funny, not haha funny, but interesting funny, how I profess Jesus as my all in all, yet I so rarely hang and consult Him on things. When I’ve been putting these past few practices into action, my heart can feel a difference.

On a scale from 1-10, how much of a hurry are you in in life? Well on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest level of hurry, I would put myself around an 8 (+ or -).

There’s a difference between an invitation and a To-Do list. An invitation is a welcomed offer, and a To-Do list is a pass or fail expectation.

I literally had to fight myself to intentionally practice hearing Jesus in the silence

We arrived just as the service was starting. I pulled out my guitar and walked up to the asphalt stage, plugged in my guitar, and the sound that came out was...well, it was the soundtrack in hell (at least from a guitar player's perspective).

This could be one of the most powerful understandings that, if lived out, could lead to our souls’ great awakening. YOU ARE LOVED ALL DAY LONG...NO MATTER WHAT:

When we get beyond all of the temporal things that we think will make us happy, we start to enter the real heart and soulful longings for our lives, and for the people we love.

It was like God himself was opening these doors and inviting us into fulfilling our shared dreams. And…..nope. Doors closed.

I am a serious researcher. When I get something in my mind that I want, and think the timing is right, I go after it with gusto.

As I travel the country, one of my favorite parts of my job is talking to people after my show. The stories and journeys you people are on are staggering, sobering, raw, painful and beautiful all at the same time.
