Celebration Without Desperation Lacks AWESOME
My hero Stan Endicott always says how quickly we seem to move to celebration without desperation. Think about it. When have you experienced the most celebration? The couple that has tried for 10 years to have kids then gets pregnant. The underdog team that is seemingly never gonna make it to the finals and wins it all. The character in the story that has everything stacked up against them and prevails. Desperation, winter, and dead things are all seasons to make the Spring that much more beautiful!
Easter is only really powerful when we realize the depth of desperation we live in. Not just because of the sin management that happens through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, but the even bigger story of His Kingdom now available for all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Which... brings us tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy...oh King Jesus brings us tidings of comfort and joy!! So remember, today God is on the move at work in all things. Let’s live as though it’s true.
