Dumbest Thing Ever
Following Jesus is probably the dumbest thing you could do. There is nothing smart about following the ways of Jesus (according to the values of our culture/even our "christian" culture).
How counter are these ideas to what the “American Dream” is:
-Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God
-Hard (not impossible but hard) to enter the Kingdom of God as a rich person.
-The only way to the Kingdom of God is to become like a child.
-Take up your cross and follow Jesus.
-Bless those who curse you.
-Turn the other cheek.
-Pray for your enemies.
-Spend the economy of you heart on those in need.
So what stands Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become "fools" so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. 1 Corinthians 3: 18,19
So what stands out to you after reading these? Remember, these are not things that you just grin and bear, but they are who we become as we walk in step with Jesus.
