I Had A Dream
A few years ago I had a dream of helping people practically follow Jesus all week long. The math breakdown of the 10,080 minutes was so staggering to me and I knew that I had to personally live my week different and that maybe we could invite the Church into this as well. 80 minutes were for the weekly gathering of the Church, and then there were 10,000 other minutes where the Church (Jesus Followers) were scattered. So we began trying to focus more on the 10,000 minutes than just the 80 minutes.
My outlook on the 10,000 minutes WITH Jesus began to change. I began to dream about inviting others into this journey. This idea of practically following Jesus all week long is not a new concept by any means, but the messaging seemed to make sense and meet a need. So some friends and I began to dream about how to implement this 10,000MINTES idea into our culture.
As we were dreaming, the main ideas weren’t fleshed out and there wasn’t a practical concept yet. All we had was vision. So we made the decision to stop pushing forward and trying to “make” something happen. Our focus was to wait on Jesus’ leading.
Snap forward a few years and Jesus keeps opening doors and adding objectives to the vision. The point here is, I had to dream and then die to the outcome of the dream.
What are you dreaming about WITH Jesus? What one dream do you need to surrender the outcome of?
