What Things In Your Life Today Are Blinding You From JOY?
Last week:
I’m in the Radiology department waiting to begin my day of cancerous tumor testing. “They’ve” said that there are still 4 tumors on my liver that are wearing out my heart. So I walk in here today quoting and claiming the invitation that we’ve been memorizing.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for/because the LORD your God will be with you everywhere you go.
Friends, these tests suck. These realities and diagnosis’ plain old suck. AND yet there is JOY available in the midst of it all. HOW? WHY?
What things in your life today are blinding you from JOY?
Once again (and won’t be the last time I say this:), JOY is outside of Circumstance. Because God...stop right there. GOD, the creator of the universe and the author of all love is with us and we are with HIM everywhere we go! When HE is our great reward, and not what HE can do for us, then JOY begins to crack through the walls of our sorrow! When we surrender to HIM being in control of the outcomes, then JOY begins to shatter the weight of our (false) control!
Remember, JOY is the byproduct of seeking first the Kingdom of God. It cannot be mustered up. JOY is walking and trusting that Jesus is GOD, that HE is GOOD, and that HE is at work for our good everywhere we go. So today, practice with me the letting go of outcomes. Let JESUS have them today.
